The Animation Appreciation Club is an organization at CSU Sacramento that focuses on the appreciation and analysis of Western Animations. Originally the My Little Pony & Interests Club, founded by President Carlos Alfaro in 2012, Club Officers Matt Montuya and Rose Lopez suggested we expand our doors in order to welcome even more diversity in the club.
In a society where animation is growing in popularity at a staggering rate, we have formed an organization where people can meet and share their interests in shows, movies, animators, and studios in a friendly, positive environment filled with like-minded people. In addition to introducing shows and animation to each other, we will hold discussions pertaining to series analysis, in-depth episode analysis, and analyze the fandoms surrounding these shows. As many of our members tend to be art majors, they are also given the opportunity to share their own art and creations pertaining to animations as well.
Again, the objective of our organization is to share our love of western animation with others, analyze the potential of what lies beyond the superficial surface of these animations, and share our own artistic creations as well as those from the surrounding fandoms in order to educate and inspire others in a positive and friendly environment.
